At Kundra.ai, I led UX/UI design for a manager-facing HR tool that guides organizations through parental leave and reboarding. My focus was on designing clear, phase-based flows that help managers stay on top of tasks, timelines, and employee support during critical transitions.
Challenge
Parental leave is a sensitive and complex process: managers are often unsure how to support employees, HR struggles to ensure compliance, and employees can feel disconnected during leave. Existing HR platforms treat parental leave as an afterthought, offering little structure or visibility, which leads to missed steps, uneven experiences, and lower employee trust.

Goals
Design a manager dashboard that makes leave phases and tasks clear at a glance.
Ensure employees feel supported before, during, and after leave.
Give HR visibility into progress and reduce the risk of compliance gaps.
Build a scalable system that works for organizations with only a few leave cases at a time.
My Contribution
1. Discovery & Strategy
Collaborated with the founders to define personas: managers with limited HR experience, HR leads overseeing compliance, and employees going on leave.
Mapped the leave journey into phases (pre-leave, during leave, reboarding) and identified the key pain points in each stage.
Prioritized manager-side flows, since they are the most under-supported in existing tools.
2. Design Experience
Created a manager dashboard showing employees on leave, task timelines, and upcoming actions.
Designed phase-based task lists with clear due dates, ownership, and countdowns.
Ensured visibility of multiple leave cases, so managers don’t lose track when handling more than one.
Built fast navigation into employee details and resources to minimize friction.
3. Visual & Brand Design
Applied a professional but empathetic visual language to convey both clarity and care.
Built reusable components in Figma to allow for fast iteration of task cards, progress trackers, and HR reporting views.
4. Cross-Team Collaboration
Partnered with HR advisors to validate workflows and ensure legal/organizational alignment.
Worked with engineering to design lightweight, scalable components suitable for MVP launch.
Results
Delivered an MVP manager dashboard that clearly structures the leave journey.
Early pilot feedback: managers reported higher confidence and 100% task completion rates in the reboarding phase.
HR gained visibility into leave progress, reducing the risk of missed deadlines or compliance issues.
Set a foundation for expanding into employee-facing flows and HR analytics.
